Last Bucks is a Dutch streetwear label for men, started in 2025.
Heavyweight cotton. Prints on the back. Nothing on the front that asks for attention.
It was founded by one man who spent years doing what was expected of him and slowly stopped recognising himself in it. Not dramatically. Just steadily, the way it usually goes.
Then a rejection landed at the wrong moment and made the whole thing obvious.
This is what came after.
Loud on the back. Quiet in the room.
That contrast runs through everything we make. The print says something. The man wearing it does not have to.
The name is not a metaphor.
He started this on his last bucks.
“THE UNREGULATED APPAREL”
Not unregulated as in reckless. Unregulated as in no longer regulated by what other people expect of you.
Roy grew up doing the sensible thing, and he was good at it. Steady work, a steady life, the version of himself that everyone around him recognised.
From the outside it looked like he had made it. That is exactly what makes a gilded cage hard to leave. Nobody complains about stability, so nobody asks whether it fits.
The rejection was not the disaster. It was the clarification. One no, from the direction he had spent years pointing himself at, and suddenly it was obvious that the plan was never going to deliver what it promised. It had never been his plan to begin with.
He did not set out to make clothing. He set out to make something for the man who has just worked out that his own life is negotiable, and who does not yet know a single other person in that position.
Clothing turned out to be the right format. It is the one decision you make every morning before anybody speaks to you.
Last Bucks is still run by Roy, from the Netherlands. Every print starts with something that actually happened.
